The following is not true.

"Today I realized I hate everyone in the whole world."  (from a Dilbert cartoon)

It's not true. It merely exaggerates.

Tell me something happy. Please.

I have a reprint of this strip on my wall.

Derek and I are going down to DC this weekend, to see 2 friends of ours get married.

She and I have been friends since High School, lost touch for about 10 years, and found each other again via another friend (who we have known since Jr. High.)

The Girl thinks you're neat people. So does flit1. So, there's three happy things...

Something happy?

...um...

The Golden Compass comes out in just over a month.

Also, there's three Tori concerts around that exact same date, for which I believe tickets are still available.

Also also, Shonen Knife at Slim's just a couple of days later?

You are well loved.

It's Friday.

There's a very good secret that I really want to share with people because I know it will make them very happy, but I can't share it until after the first of the year. But trust me, it's good.

I'm not in pain today.

I slept curled up with a kitty last night. It purred and purred.

It's a sunny day out, and there's no work tomorrow!

Sweet Grub kisses (that smell faintly of graham crackers).

My son slept until eleven am today. I sure hope he gets to meet you soon, hon!
Hugs!

My broken foot is getting better.

Sable continues to eat wet food, so we don't have to force feed him anymore. He was incredibly sweet to me this morning too.

Umm. I'm hoping to play Arkham Horror twice tomorrow :)

You've got people who love and care about you. Don't listen to the idiots.

There. How's that?

My cats brought me several toy mice in bed this morning. I fear for the day that they find a real mouse.

I'm having my first major system issue as a new manager, and seem to be handling it both with command, and without irritating my (highly independent, surprised to be under new management, possibly chagrined that that new management is me) team. It's a fine line, and I'm kind of shocked to be balancing it OK the first time.

Happiness is the almost dowdy camel colored sweater which look frumpy but feels so buttery soft and warm.

The trees on the drive in are turning the colors of autumn and look so beautiful. I can almost smell the tea and pumpkin or apple pie that accompanies autumn. Or maybe a big slice of warm gingerbread.

My nephew who just turned four had such a great time trick-or-treating that he woke up early the next day and wanted to go again.

These noise cancelling headphones are working kind of. The thought that an upgrade would work better is somewhat delicious.

Serenity Now!

In just over two weeks my family and I will land on US soil and I can expose our daughter to the pretty colors of the West Coast :)

* You are loved by a great many more people than you think.

* My daughter is feeling much better today than she has all week.

* In a week, Guildmistress and I are flying to Texas to visit a friend who really needs the company.

i've noticed that,
the older you get,
the less your farts smell.

but,
whether that's happy,
or sad.
i leave up to you.
for statements have no intrinsic value.

oh.
update.

not *all* farts smell less.

really.

ack.

I have a cat whose purr precedes him into the room by six or more feet. I looked up at the noise and then he entered the room. It was so cool.

I have hella talented kids whose opening night I attended about an hour ago. I am lucky to work with them.

A little late 'cause I just saw this.

The feral kittens living in my room are starting to accept humans as not-scary, after I've been sharing the room with them for only four days (they moved in right after I flew to Minneapolis, so they've been here longer than that).

Yesterday evening, I tempted all three of them onto the bed with a little strip of paper. It took about ten minutes but they did eventually forget they were scared of me, and I had them leaping all around the bed and could even pet them without them running away.

... then last night, when I was reading and about to fall asleep, I noticed that one of them was going to sleep right on the bed about a foot and a half from my head.
