There is a place a client took us out to lunch to once. It is in the vicinity of Lawrence and Steven's Creek(?). In any case, the seating is what was most unique that I remember, shoes off at the table, pebbled under the table and slat type benches. It was certainly very good sushi (8-9 for both nigiri and sashimi). he rools were decent, pricing was a little on the high side, but worth it. Can anyone help with the name? Kobe on El Camino in Santa Clara is super yummy, good prices and ambiance. (indoor stream and koi pond). If you go on a popular night though, you will have a wait.
Cherry sushi seems to be trying to be a more modern/hip sushi club, it is also on El Camino, closer to Lawrence ExPWY in Santa Clara. The fish is great, the prices reflect it.
