I also got a metatarsal: snapped off the proximal end of the right fifth one. I have another friend who fractured the middle of the same bone and walked on it for two weeks. I didn't walk at -all- for two weeks.
Mine is the left foot, first metatarsal. Fell down some stairs, didn't realize I'd stressed the foot till almost two days later. The fracture is on the inside of the foot, mostly on the side, which is the reason why I could keep walking on it. I just rolled my foot to the outside edge and avoided bending the big toe.

Thankfully it was a minor fracture, I just was stupid and kept walking on it. I mean, "It didn't hurt THAT much, really ;)"
