Tell me something good. Big, small, trivial, profound. Just tell me a happy thing.

There has been a surfeit of the dark and depressing of late, and I am minded that we perceive in the world that which have set out to see. I would like your assistance in recalibrating my outlook.

I woke up happy this morning. And I thought of four different fun things I wanted to do before lunch: gardening, making a birthday present for my friends, writing a letter to a friend, and composing a song.

I haven't any done any yet, but just the thoughts were lovely.

Also, that icon of 2 dolphins cracks me up every time. I am easily amused. :)

The cherry stoner that I got for Christmas works wonderfully. :) I tried it out and made cherry shortcake with the results. Yummy.

1. My veg garden is growing! Soon we'll have food from it, and that's freakin' amazing!
2. Yesterday morning, my dad, the man who taught me to love every bloomin' thing, told me that my yard is beautiful. It made me feel wonderful.
3. I love you every day--good days, sad days, productive days, sick days, lazy days--each and every one of them.

I'm being pestered by a jelico cat, and the calico is just giving me the look of "why are you sitting when you could be napping?" ... and I can actually justify a nap, which sounds really nice.

The Girl is on a field trip to the B Street Theatre. She likes plays.

The family will probably be journeying to the Olde Coloma Theatre Saturday night for the latest melodrama. The Girl likes throwing foil balls at the villian.

I saw pale freckles on a friend's face last night, indicators that she's been spending more time outside in the sun. It was beautiful.

This morning when I rationalized that mowing the lawn would substitute for exercise, I saw several ladybugs sleeping. Never seen them sleeping before. They seemed to prefer long blades of grass or were tucked into leaves on long stems. Antennae in.

A robin stopped by in the front yard and a blue scrubjay landed in the backyard until it realized there was a person there.

Apple pie can be vegan (without butter/milk in the crust). Apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt on the inside. Flour, vegetable shortening, water and salt for crust. Mmmmmm... eating homemade apple pie when the filling is still warm from just being baked.

* I celebrated 1 yr of being with M on wednesday. I've done my damnedest not to run away & to trust him. And he's done his best to be patient & loving. I feel amazingly lucky to have met him & to have him in my life. (He's also pretty darn cute!)

* Also on Wednesday, at my dentist appt I got an all clear on my dental health & a good job from my dentist. It's the first time in ages, where I haven't had something wrong & we were all pretty happy about that.

* I have friends from England visiting next week - bringing 2 more of their friends & their 1 yr old daughter. They're all staying with me, so I'll get a full house & plenty of time to catch up with them - especially as I'm taking Thurs & Friday off.

* I have a lot of amazing & wonderful & loving people in my life.

* The sun is out today & it's pretty!

I'm at Toyota in Daly City getting my car serviced by a friend. It's awesome knowing that Kirsten will take good care of my baby.

In the back of my car is a fedora with fruit on it for the "Carmine Miranda" tough guy in tonight's Evil League of Evil game. This is going to be awesome.

My hair no longer attacks my mouth. Jane is up and walking like a real person and it's only been a couple of months instead of the year they were telling her initially. This is AWESOME.

My morning started with kitten snuggles from two orange babies.

Today is Sara's birthday, and Asher was the only baby at the pre-school this morning. So we had time to paint a vase, pick roses, and color a card for her. Asher's understanding of birthday consists of "party, cake, ice cream", but he really, really loves his Mommy.
