From you: a kindness, for a moment.

Tell me something good. Big, small, trivial, profound. Just tell me a happy thing.

There has been a surfeit of the dark and depressing of late, and I am minded that we perceive in the world that which have set out to see. I would like your assistance in recalibrating my outlook.

It's not much, but my grades are done, my concert programs are printed, and I can enjoy this weekend free and clear!

After a month of being unemployed, I have a part-time job and TWO more possibles in the pipeline.

Also, my little grey girl is SOUND asleep on my chest, and I will probably join her in her nap shortly.

Kitten Reunions....

On Monday, we get another loaner kitty for a week while his people are on vacation. This is the nearly-identically-marked-but-apparently-now-3lbs-bigger brother of our ZigZag.

There shall be much kitten kuteness and kaos.

Peter has a fantastic girlfriend whom I think is utterly fabulous, I have a boyfriend safely ensconced in our spare room, and the biggest piece of drama has been integrating his cat into our household.

Also, I miss you, which shouldn't be a good thing, but it means that you are loved and valued even when events mean that you have to hide for a bit.

I've been able to play music at work over head phones for the last three days while reformating the PM Manual. And at home on the stereo in the evenings because the roommate's out of town. This brings me lots of joy!

One of my favorite couples in the world has been struggling to have a child for several years. Nandu has had several miscarriages, but this time things look good. She's at 37 weeks, with a healthy baby boy. Even if she went into labour tonight, she's no losing another one.

My siblings continue to be fascinating, individual, strong, kind, loving people. It's awesome to spend time with them. I'm so glad that the six of us can be a force for good in the world.

Last week the kitten we were fostering tested positive for Feline Leukemia and we were despondent that the kitty might have to be put down, and terrified that six other cats of ours and friends were exposed.

Four days later the more accurate confirming test came back negative, all the kitties are healthy, and just a few days later the kitten has already been adopted!

I am enjoying my new patio set up overlooking the garden I've been working on.

I transplanted some Campanula muralis this morning, and my bright orange Asiatic Lilies have started blooming, when I thought they died last summer!

I'm going to the beach tomorrow to party for a week with 60+ of my friends. That hopefully will make up for the month of suck ;p

Flying at night is magical. You're so much closer to the stars than usual. When you fly over cities, the lights are gorgeous. When you fly over cloud-covered or fog-dipped cities, such as San Francisco, the clouds are lit up from underneath, and there's nothing else that looks quite so lovely.

There's another good thing, but now is not the time to share it. So there are, as ever, things to look forward to.

Yesterday, I walked a labyrinth. And then I did what I have never done before, kicked my shoes off and stood atop the rock at the center of the labyrinth, and deliberately looked around. at my bare feet on the rock. The neighbors' windows. the beautiful garden the labyrinth is in, including rosebushes that need deadheading. the breeze stirring all the gorgeous green trees.

and I realized - this is my body.
with this body I see all this beauty. I don't hurt much. Eyes and ears work fine, mind works fine. With this body I experience the glory of the world.

With this body ... so much is possible! I am so grateful for this body, I need it to know that I love it and value it.

paradigm shift. It was good.

Have you ever touched a poppy? Go out and fondle one, preferably one warmed by the sun. The petals are so silky.

I got pretty flowers for my birthday in a totally cat-proof container from two fabulous people who I'm so grateful to have living so close to me (even if I don't get to see them nearly enough).

Yay! They're very cool. I brought them to the office and shall try not to kill them and give them a proper pottery pot in a week or two when I have time to play in the dirt.

Way past the date, but happy is always good.

I took a photo much like the icon, seeing the icon made me happy.
